A Million Smile with Thanks to Malaysians

Kuala Lumpur : The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) staged the ‘A Million
Smile with Thanks to Malaysians – Amazing Celebration’ event in Kuala Lumpur to say thanks
to the Malaysian travel industry for promoting Thailand as a preferred tourist destination.
Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and South
Pacific, said “With the Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters campaign, TAT aims
to offer visitors from around the world experience-based tourism that will make Thailand
stand apart as a sustainable tourism destination, including in the Asian and South Pacific
markets. TAT will continue to promote Thailand as a quality leisure destination that provides
the most enjoyable experiences to suit all Malaysians’ preferences.”
Mrs. Sirinthara Surakanitaya, Director of TAT Kuala Lumpur office add that Malaysia has been
the number one visitor source market to Thailand. Between January and 15 April, 2023,
almost 1.2 million Malaysian tourists visited Thailand, reflecting that Thailand is still a popular
destination for Malaysian tourists. This event is organized to express our gratitude to
everyone involved, including our partners. travel agents, tour and bus operators, airlines, and
the media for doing such an amazing job in promoting Thailand, and we wish to express our
sincere thanks and appreciation to them.
The ‘A Million Smiles with Thanks to Malaysians – Amazing Celebration’ event was organised
to show appreciation and celebrate the successful visit of 1 million Malaysians to Thailand
during the first four months of the year. The event was presided over by Her Excellency Miss
Lada Phumas, Ambassador of the Royal Thai Embassy Kuala Lumpur, who delivered thank you
remarks to Thailand’s travel industry partners in Malaysia and honoured guests, including
travel industry partners, airlines, car clubs, and the media. Mrs Sirinthara Surakanitaya,
Director of the TAT Kuala Lumpur office, also gave a welcome remark.
