Smart Partnership Cooperation Between Wuxi & Malaysia

Wuxi Received An Honorable Visit by Deputy President of Malaysia International Tourism Development Association

From 29th June to 2nd July 2023, a delegation from Malaysia, which consists of Prof. Datuk Azlie Halim, Deputy President of Malaysia International Tourism Development Association (MITDA), and Wizani Rosmin, Consul of the Tourism Section of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai, has visited Wuxi in promoting collaborative cooperation between Wuxi and Malaysia in various fields.

Prof. Datuk Azlie Halim along with the delegation, have participated in the Wuxi-Malaysia Cooperation Roundtable organized by Foreign Affairs Office of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government. The roundtable has been joined by departments such as the Foreign Affairs Office, the Sports Bureau, the Trade Promotion Association, and the Cultural Tourism Group of Wuxi to have in-depth discussions to promote practical cooperation between Wuxi and Malaysia in areas such as sister cities, sports, trade exhibitions, and tourism. The itinerary included visits to several enterprises such as Wuxi Xiaofeng Internet of Vehicles Co., Ltd. and Wuxi Unicomp Technology Co., Ltd. to experience the intelligent connected vehicle technology for gaining a detailed understanding of the development of Wuxi city’s advantageous industries such as smart transportation, intelligent connected vehicles, and high-end advanced equipment. Besides, the delegation visited Wuxi National Digital Film Industrial Park and learned about the R&D innovation of digital film technology, as well as its technological production, and talent cultivation within the park. They also visited the Shangtian 6th Industrial Park located in Luoshe Town, Huishan District and the Yangshan Modern Agricultural Industrial Park to experience the farming culture, green eco-agricultural sightseeing, beautiful countryside construction, peach germplasm resources, etc.

During their stay in Wuxi, the delegation also visited the historical and cultural streets of Huishan Ancient Town, Yuantouzhu Park, Lingshan Scenic Area, and other attractions to enjoy the profound historical heritage, beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake, and the characteristics of the cultural and tourism industry in Wuxi city.

Prof. Datuk Azlie Halim expressed that this visit has left him with a depth impression and also gained a comprehensive understanding of Wuxi in the areas of economy, society, tourism, and historical culture. He also stated that he will take this visit as an opportunity to actively assist Wuxi in promoting its cultural tourism in Malaysia, enhancing mutual popularity of the two cities, and facilitating friendly city exchanges, etc., to deeply tap the potential for cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
