The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) is once again inviting guests to embark on a culinary journey through Malaysia’s rich heritage with its revamped Ramadan menus, characterized by a blend of tradition and sustainability. Under the overarching theme of ‘Tradisi Semarak Rasa,’ the Centre has meticulously curated its offerings, infusing them with fresh, locally sourced ingredients to enhance both flavor and nutritional value.

Led by its team of esteemed chefs, the Centre has undertaken a culinary transformation, reimagining classic Ramadan favorites while staying true to their authentic Malaysian roots. From the tantalizing aroma of ayam masak rendang Minang to the irresistible flavors of gulai daging tetel bersama rebung madu, each dish reflects the essence of Malaysian gastronomy, celebrating the country’s diverse culinary landscape.

Executive Chef Hisham Bin Jaafar sheds light on the menu evolution, emphasizing the team’s dedication to preserving tradition while embracing innovation. “Our culinary artisans, hailing from various corners of Malaysia, have skillfully crafted signature kampung-inspired dishes that resonate deeply with Malaysians during buka puasa,” says Chef Hisham. “This year, we’ve gone the extra mile to elevate our recipes by prioritizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients and introducing new nutritious options to cater to health-conscious diners.”

Beyond culinary excellence, the Centre ensures a holistic dining experience for its Muslim guests, providing designated prayer facilities and halal-certified kitchens accredited by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). Moreover, the Centre’s commitment to sustainability shines through, with 70% of the Ramadan menu featuring locally sourced products, reducing environmental impact and supporting local suppliers. Guests can savor these culinary delights at the public buka puasa, priced affordably at RM198 nett per person and available for bookings from 18 March to 5 April 2024. Special discounts are offered for children, senior citizens, ‘early bird’ bookings, and group reservations, ensuring accessibility for all.

Additionally, the Centre extends its culinary offerings to corporate organizations, providing customizable ‘Tradisi Semarak Rasa’ menus tailored to their events. Clients can further elevate their gatherings with optional ‘Chef Action Stations,’ featuring a diverse array of culinary delights.

Situated within Kuala Lumpur’s bustling city center, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre stands as Malaysia’s premier award-winning venue, offering a myriad of event spaces spanning five levels. Owned by KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), and managed by Convex Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the Centre upholds world-class standards, adhering to rigorous international quality benchmarks.

Committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship, the Centre actively monitors and improves its environmental performance, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the ASM Global network’s initiatives. With its unwavering dedication to tradition, innovation, and sustainability, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre sets the stage for memorable Ramadan celebrations that honor Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage.
