MTGS 2021 : Opportunity To Look Beyond Tourism

Kuala Lumpur : The COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive social and economic impact. Both developed and developing economies have been hit. The restart of tourism will help kickstart recovery and growth. It is essential that the benefits this will bring are enjoyed widely and fairly. The shift in travel behaviour towards rural tourism has created new opportunities for tourism stakeholders to rethink development in a way that is more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient.

In conjunction with World Tourism Day 2021 as a day to focus on Tourism for Inclusive Growth, Malaysia Tourism Council will organise 2nd Malaysia Tourism Gold Summit 2021. This is an opportunity to look beyond tourism statistics and acknowledge that, behind every number, there is a person. By emphasising tourism and sustainable development, the industry can help ensure a fairer distribution of the benefits from tourism, including job creation, the protection of natural resources, infrastructure development and the empowerment of local communities.

2nd Malaysia Tourism Gold Summit 2021 is a virtual 3 days event that brings together thought leaders and tourism stakeholders from across the globe. Comprised of expert speaker sessions and tourism players, this event will address important issues within the responsible development of tourism post-pandemic.

Uzaidi Udanis, President of Malaysia Tourism Council said that 2nd Malaysia Tourism Gold Summit provide the right recognition the whole total tourism landscape tourism industry the perfect opportunity to gather and develop excellence initiative  in the industry. 

“This is an opportunity to bring together all tourism industry player and government to put more efforts in ensuring that our tourism industry and our businesses will survive during pandemic. The government is doing its part, and as for us, the time is to “ask not what the country can do for us, but what we can do for our country,” says Uzaidi Udanis.

In line with the efforts to uplift the country’s tourism industry during pandemic Covid 19, Malaysia Tourism Council Gold Summit  has taken an initiative to start 2nd Malaysia Tourism Gold Summit 2021 . It is an exclusive program, giving recognition to the tourism players, products and  to empowering tourism industry.

With the registered more than 3,000 participation of the tourism industry player together with  more than 50 speakers of experts, this event will be take place from 27-30 September 2021 at virtual digital platform www.mtcsummit2021.
