Variety of Asian foods and Malay fusion dishes served

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will be donating 5% of the proceeds from its Ramadan buka puasa offerings to designated charities the venue supports in line with its vision of ‘Embracing The Joy of Giving in The Month of Ramadan’ this year.

This year’s menu features a fusion of traditional and modern dishes together with Ramadan ‘must haves’ including Bukhara Ramadan served with gulai kawah daging campur bersama kedondong, gulai kawah ayam kampong bersama pisang mda lemak manis; ayam kampong masak cencaluk; lemak asam telur itik bersama sayur munggai; tembosa and ubi getok; ocean prawns with Durian king fruit; and ‘Portuguese-style’ banana leaf grilled seafood, to name a few.

According to the Centre’s Executive Chef, Hisham Bin Jaafar, “We are excited about our interactive ‘contemporary bazaar’ concept to guests, which will enhance the diverse array of delicious dishes that are being specially prepared by our 52 award-winning chefs. This Ramadan, diners at our buka puasa will enjoy an experience to remember with the creation of a casual festive ambience involving our popular ‘Chef Action Stations’ which have had a makeover as classic roadside stalls – where our chefs will be cooking authentic ‘street food’ dishes, such as Thai BBQ, steamboat, Penang char kuey teow and chicken and beef stay.”

The Centre also offers Ramadan guests a designated prayer room, prayer mats, sandals, on-site ablution facility and an Imam to lead Muslims in their Maghrib, Isya’ and Tarawih prayers, allowing guests to comfortably perform their religious duties before breaking fast.

Kerabu also available for people who love to taste the kampung flavor

Chef Hisham continued, “with all five of the Centre’s kitchens; Chinese, Western, Cold, pastry and Malay, certified halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), our Muslim guests are able to enjoy their meal with complete peace of mind. This Ramadan, we continue to build on our commitment to sustainability with 70% locally sourced produce and ingredients.”

Diners can be assured of service excellence and sumptuous 5-star cuisine at the Centre’s public buka puasa, which is affordably priced at RM150 nett per person and is available for bookings on weekdays between 8 to 31 May 2019. The Centre also has a 10% early bird discount for all public buka puasa bookings made before 30 April 2019. So, make sure to book early to avoid disappointment.

Desserts is a must have at a buffet!

The Centre is offering great value for its corporate buka puasa promotion (for 100 pax and above), which will be available daily throughout Ramadan, from RM128 nett per person. With two customizable menu choices – the delightful Ramadan Al-Mubarak and the tantalizing Ramadan Al-Kareem – clients have the option to personalize them with various ‘Chef Action Station’ add-ons.

Elaborating on the extensive menu, Chef Hisham, concluded “In addition to the host of classic Ramadan dishes, both the corporate and public buka puasa menus offer contemporary and international choices for diners looking for something a little different. Dishes include pita kebab Arab daging cincang, Japanese teriyaki and selection of sushi, roasted fish Tikka, Hainanese chicken rice and our famous roasted Harissa whole lamb served with mint sauce and condiments.”
