Integration of Media Icons and Local Entrepreneurs for the Global Market
Cyberjaya : As the saying goes “Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining”…. Whilst the Covid-19 pandemic has devastated the global economy has also presented opportunities to create new revenue streams through various digital platforms. While nations around the world are still at war against the virus, the pandemic has unprecedentedly ignited various digital transformation of businesses and lifestyles aligned with the developments of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).
KRU is very fortunate as the company had made early preparations for the digital transformation of its entire business operations since September 2019. In October 2020, over a year after initiating the business development process, KRU will launch a social e-commerce platform branded as “iLike” via website in addition to both Android and iOS applications. The uniqueness of the iLike platform is the offerings of a plethora of exclusive media icon products that are not available on competing platforms. In addition, iLike provides an eco-system whereby participating media icons and “influencers” (be it graduates, homemakers or professionals) are able to generate income while supporting local entrepreneurs market their products locally and internationally.
“Product listing on iLike platform is free and merchants can offer unlimited SKUs. Apart from that, iLike also provides production services for advertising materials and digital media packages from as low as RM 888 for bookings before 31st December 2020. KRU also offers short-term upskilling and reskilling training programs, and e- learning for entrepreneurs and influencers through our “Social e-Commerce” programs commencing November 2020,” explained Dato’ Norman Abdul Halim, President & Group Chief Executive Officer, KRU Entertainment Sdn Bhd.
KRU has also appointed Didie Alias, a celebrity entrepreneur as iLike’s first Media Icon. Didie Alias will host the “iLike Show” which shall be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram commencing 10th October 2020.
Didie Alias expressed, “I’m truly grateful that my past efforts in bringing together local celebrities and entrepreneurs through Lefest Tour carnival has caught KRU’s attention. Given the current constraints in organizing events with mass public gatherings, the launch of iLike platform is very much needed, and has come at the right time.
